Hi folks.

Just to let you's know that I've added a new feature to the board (after much fannying about).. where we can now post video's direct from websites such as youtube etc etc.. It brings the board up to date with other boards that offer this service.

It's easy enough to do.

Before you do it though, you need to go into your profile (link at top of page)..and change the setting near the bottom that allows HTML (so that it does allow it) If it is already set like this.. then don't worry about it.

As an example.. this bit of code in your message

Meant to say... if anyone wants to test this new feature.. by all means do so.. but keep tests limited to this thread please.

And finally.. a sort of "Big Brother is watching you" type warning.. sorry if that's what it sounds like.. it's not meant to.

Our userbase has grown alot over the past few months, and I don't think there is any harm in reminding everyone, particularly now that we have video posting.. to keep whatever you post free of porn etc etc.

Swearing has been allowed, and will continue to be so, until someone flags a problem with it.

Not that we've ever had a problem with this before of course.. just thought I'd post a wee reminder.

I wonder what would happen if I'd done this over the last three years? The lassie took a picture of herself everyday.

I'd have been having to get a wider lens by the end of things.

There's a fair bit of fiddling with that code to be doing with Stan.

You need to chance the end of the url link too eh and remove the "watch" part of it?

Aye.. it wouldn't have worked had you tried it up till now.. only just changed things behind the scenes to deal with it.

It is a fair bit of faffing about with the url, but it can't be helped.. not till I've learned more about it that is.

The above video is taken from youtube... using the "Embeded" link that is supplied on the youtube page. All I did was take off the <object> part of it.. if folk learn how it's done though.. it's not too much hassle. (hence testing on this thread)

Right.. sorted..

Have changed more stuff behind the scenes.. all you need to do now is take the "Embed" link that's supplied towards the right of the youtube page.

Worth noting that this will work with most video hosting sites.. not just you tube.

Will change the first post on this thread to reflect these changes.
