So.. what you all making of your teams dealings in the transfer market so far then?

As a United fan, I don't think the net result so far of the comings and goings is going to make us any stronger.. in fact, it'll be weaker than last season. Flood, Kerr, Robb all going leaves a big gap in our midfield, and so far, we've signed 2 Dundee players, and a boy from Germany, and the Celtic reserve goalie. I'm getting a bit worried by the amount of lower league players we're signing, but I trust Levein's judgement, and it's all a club of Uniteds size can really do I suppose, so we'll see what happens. Still 2-3 more players to come apparently, though with rumours of Hunt going to Reading, and slight speculative rumours of Rangers coming in for Gomis and Wilkie, that'll be too big a gap to fill. We'll see what happens.

Celtic fans... you's happy? Got enough to retain the title?

And Rangers fans.. jesus, are you's planning to just play a team of strikers next year or what?  Lafferty. Miller and Valicka last week signing, plus Cousin, Darchville, Boyd, Novo, Gow and if you count him as a forward, Naismith.

Yeah, we're going all out to rid the anti-football myth!

Cousin will be away, Naismith is out for a year still, Gow's likely to be away (although reports this morning suggest otherwise) and I think Darche could likely leave if we get an offer to buy out his contract for a year.

I'm distinctly unimpressed so far. I was against the Miller signing for a whole host of reasons most notably that he's not any better than Darche in the lone striker role.

Velicka I'll take as a squad player. Lafferty hasn't really impressed me the few times I've seen him for Burnely but he does have age on his side and was playing wide left for them when he's really a striker. He'll likely be a decent signing for us though.

The worry is that we don's strengthen the first choice 11 though. These signings aren't much better than what we have. We need to quality additions to the team at centre half and a creative midfield player.

Davis has to be signed too. He was part of the squad that wasn't quite good enough last season so we need him PLUS another midfielder.

I just hope that the funds are released to add these two players to the team without selling either McGregor or Cuellar.

I'd happily go with Papac and Whittaker as our full backs next season if that was the pay off.

As a big fan of Smith I trust him to pick out the players we need. He's got a good eye for the players that suit Rangers. If he can only find an Albertz type we're laughing.

The most interesting thing will be if they sign Davis just what the midfield is next season. Lafferty will see us playing a 442 more often but that leaves a player less in the middle. With Ferguson and Thomson pretty much automatic picks in the middle, Davis would be on the right which would leave the new player on the left inplace of Beasley, McCulloch, Burke and Novo.

I'm sure a couple of major preseason cruciate ligament injuries will sort all that out though.

I'm happy with us signing Bobby Sands.
