A-win-away, A-win-away, A-win-away, A-win-away ...

The Lyon sleeps tonight.....

Well, I bet no one had that on their coupon for last night!

I'm truly stunned. I reckon it's the best away result fro Rangers in my lifetime. Marseille away in 92/93 being the second now.

Two draws for Stuttgart and Lyon in their next two head-to-head games woudl be the icing on the cake.

No doubt about it, it was a cracking result for Rangers. Strangely, without them playing too well.

Good finishes for all the goals.. 3 real chances.., 3 goals.. can't argue with that.

Lyon did hit the woodwork 3 times too right enough, but that's not to take anything away from Rangers.. even 3-3 would have been a good result.. but 3-0 is just out of this world. McGregor, Hutton, Cousin, Beasley and Cuellar (sp) were all outstanding in my opinion.

When I saw the draw, I never thought I'd say this, but Rangers have given themselves a real chance of qualification out this group.. which would be quite an outstanding acheivment. Still a long way to go right enough.. it'll be interesting to see what needs done after the 2 barcelona games.. that's when results like the first two games need to be replicated.

The French must REALLY hate scottish teams right now!!

As Walter Smith said last night, it'll come down to the two results between Lyon and Stuttgart in their upcoming double header. He's obvioulsly assuming Barca will be too strong for Rangers over the two games.

I reckon that we'll have a shout of going through if at least one of the next two of Lyon's game end in a draw. It could come down to having to beat them at Ibrox to qualify which would make for an amazing night if it were to go that far.

I'm delighted that Barca are coming to Ibrox in a game that means something. I was looking forward to seeing them either way but this start means that there's an added egde to it.

Cannae wait - though we'll likely get pumped.

I am *NOT* just saying this for controversy or that, but Rangers can only throw this away now.

Even a draw against Barca at home can be achieved.

Barca will settle for that.

And they can beat Stuttgart or get a point away and then get a win against Lyon at home.

Only game I see Rangers losing is Barca away.

I'm not as bitter as Ra Bears wur when we went through against Man Utd last season so I must offer my congratulations.

Never looked in doubt at 2-0 either.

I really don't think it can be said that Rangers can only throw this away.

Much like Scotland and the euro qualifiers.. Rangers have given themselves a great chance of going through, but at the same time, I don't think they should be expected to go through, or be regarded as automatic favorites to go through. There is still alot of work to do. They still have 2 matches against Barca, an away trip to the german champions, and a home visit of the french champions... it's still going to be very ticky.

As ross says, what smith said about the other match while they are playing barca is going to determine what happens.

Makes for a very interesting group though. Either way, Even if they lose the next 3 matches.. it's still going to go to the last day for rangers.. which is exciting stuff for the supporters.

If rnagers do go through, and you have to fancy them at this stage, it will be good for Celtics seeding after we win the league this year

Cappo

Nah, it'll make no odds.

Put your fishing rod away Vincent!

It's already decided that this season's SPL winners will go straight into the groups as long as the CL winners are already qualified through their own league position.

Other than that, Rangers win only increases their own co-efficient for seeding come the next draw.

Anyway, shut it!
